Gopher SupportProblem: You are unable to run Gopher 2006 on Windows Vista. Solution: If you previously installed on older version of Gopher 2006 on Vista then you need to uninstall Interbase 6.0 by going to Control Panel > Classic View > Programs and Features. Right-click "Interbase 6.0" and select Uninstall. Then follow the prompts and accept all default settings. Restart your computer after uninstalling Interbase before you install the new Gopher 2006 installation. Download and install the new XP and Vista-compatible version of Gopher 2006 by clicking on this link:
(If you have already installed this newer version of Gopher 2006 you will encounter an error when the Firebird database system tries to install itself. You can ignore this error.) Finally, restart your computer and then double-click on the desktop icon to run Gopher 2006. |
